1. Video settings
- Display mode: Fullscreen, native resolution or the stretched one you are used to.
- Boost Player Contrast: Enabled — it costs a little FPS but makes players easier to see.
- Shader detail, Particle detail, Ambient occlusion, HDR: low / off.
- Multisampling: 2x or 4x MSAA if your GPU has headroom; FidelityFX Super Resolution off for a sharp picture.
- NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency: Enabled (or Enabled + Boost).
2. FPS cap
Set Max FPS in the game (or fps_max in the console) to a value you can hold in smokes and fights. A cap a bit above your refresh rate with Reflex on keeps frame times even.
3. Launch options
- Most CS:GO-era options (
-high,-threads,-nojoy…) do nothing useful in CS2 or are ignored — you can leave launch options empty. -novidonly skips the intro video.
4. Network
- Play on cable. Wi-Fi jitter shows up as rubber-banding.
- Check Settings › Game › Telemetry to see your ping and packet loss in game.
- Close downloads and cloud sync while you play.
Myths to skip
- “Max FPS config” files from random sites: many commands are cheat-protected or gone in CS2.
- Setting CS2 to Realtime priority — it can freeze input and audio.
How HKTweaks helps
HKTweaks Premium puts CS2 on your gaming GPU, gives its traffic priority, keeps it first while it runs (Game Booster: game priority, standby RAM freed, 0.5 ms timer) and sets the network card and TCP/IP for games. Every change shows its risk and can be undone in one click.
