1. Display
- Display mode: Fullscreen and your monitor's maximum refresh rate.
- Limit FPS: off, or a cap you can hold in every fight — an even frame time matters more than the peak.
- NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency: On + Boost (NVIDIA cards).
2. Graphics quality
- Material, Texture and Detail quality: Low on mid-range PCs, Medium if you have headroom.
- Multithreaded rendering: On on any CPU with 4 cores or more.
- Vignette, Bloom, Distortion, Cast shadows: off.
- Anti-aliasing: MSAA 2x is a good balance; Improve clarity is a matter of taste.
3. Mouse
- Turn off Windows Enhance pointer precision for consistent aim.
- Raw input buffer: on, if your mouse polls at 1000 Hz or more.
- Set the polling rate in your mouse software, not with third-party drivers.
4. Vanguard: keep these ON
- TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot — required on Windows 11 (VAN 9001 / VAN 9003 when they are off).
- Memory integrity (HVCI) if your account asks for it.
- See our guide on VAN: RESTRICTION to turn them back on safely.
Myths to skip
- Turning off security mitigations or VBS “for FPS”: VALORANT may refuse to start, the gain is tiny.
- Ancient timer / HPET tricks with bcdedit: no gain on modern PCs, sometimes worse.
How HKTweaks helps
HKTweaks never switches off TPM, Secure Boot or Memory integrity — its PC health page says “Vanguard ready” or exactly what is off and how to fix it. Premium sets VALORANT on your gaming GPU, gives its traffic priority and keeps it first while you play (Game Booster), with every tweak undoable in one click.
