1. Before you play
- Let the shader pre-load finish (Settings › Graphics) after every update — playing while it runs causes stutter.
- Install the game on an SSD (NVMe if you have one).
2. Memory settings
- VRAM Scale Target: around 80 % — leave room for Windows and your other apps.
- On-demand texture streaming: off if your internet is slow or capped; on a fast connection it gives better textures for little cost.
3. Display and latency
- Display mode: Fullscreen exclusive.
- NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency: On + Boost (NVIDIA).
- Upscaling: DLSS (NVIDIA) or FSR on Quality / Balanced if you need FPS — sharper than lowering the resolution.
- Motion blur, depth of field, film grain: off.
4. Quality settings
- Shadow quality, Screen space shadows, Ambient occlusion: low — big FPS cost.
- Texture resolution: as high as your VRAM allows.
- Particle quality: low (helps a lot in gas and explosions).
Myths to skip
- Editing config files by hand: the game rewrites them and some values are locked.
- Turning off Windows security or anti-cheat services: the game will not start.
